Navigation Happiness is a warm puppy at the 2025 Annual Florida Bar Convention
The Animal Law Section once again sponsored its signature activity, the Puppy Pit, during June’s Annual Bar Convention in Boca Raton. A convention favorite, the Puppy Pit opened to a waiting line of people winding down the hallway.
Leigh Markowitz, a managing lawyer with Disability Rights Florida in Ft. Lauderdale, has been organizing the Puppy Pit since 2022.
“The reason people fall in love with animals is because of the way they make them feel…and who doesn’t love puppies?” said Markowitz, adding that the event is a great way to raise awareness for local rescues.
