Fourth Circuit JNC elects new leadership, seeks applicants for judicial vacancies
The Fourth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission convened its annual meeting on July 24 in Chief Judge Lance Day’s chambers at the Duval County Courthouse. At the meeting, the commission unanimously elected Chanda L. Rogers of Nassau County as chair and Alan S. Mizrahi of Duval County as vice-chair for the 2025–2026 term.
Following the enactment of Senate Bill 2508, four new judicial positions have been created within the Fourth Judicial Circuit. Gov. Ron DeSantis recently requested the commission to nominate highly qualified candidates for two of those vacancies: one on the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court and one on the Clay County Court.
Complete unredacted and redacted applications for these vacancies must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, via email to Chair Chanda Rogers. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants must meet the qualifications for judicial office as outlined in Article V, Section 8 of the Florida Constitution.
