Gov. Ron DeSantis May 23 appointed Ray Treadwell of Tallahassee to serve as judge on the First District Court of Appeal.

Treadwell has been a shareholder at Lawson Huck Gonzalez since 2023. Previously, he served as chief deputy general counsel to the Executive Office of the Governor. He was also the general counsel of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his juris doctor from Yale Law School. Treadwell fills the judicial vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Bradford Thomas.
