A Palm Beach County resident has taken legal action against a foreign limited liability company, alleging negligence after a severe accident at an event venue. On March 27, 2025, Penny Zarcadoolas filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against Harbourside Place LLC. The lawsuit claims that the defendant’s failure to maintain safe conditions led to her sustaining permanent injuries.

According to the complaint, on January 22, 2025, Penny Zarcadoolas was exiting a stage at an event held in Harbourside Place’s ballroom at Wyndham Site No.: 47553 in Jupiter, Florida. As she stepped off the stage, she fell violently onto the hard flooring due to the absence of safety measures such as stairs or handrails. The plaintiff argues that these safety features are customary and prudent for such setups. The complaint states that “the Defendant had a duty to maintain the area and stage in a reasonably safe condition free of hazards,” which they allegedly breached by failing to provide adequate safety measures.

The plaintiff contends that Harbourside Place LLC was aware or should have been aware of the hazardous conditions but neglected to remedy them. It is claimed that “Defendant knew or should have known that invitees… would be ingressing, egressing… where Plaintiff’s accident occurred.” Despite this knowledge, the defendant did not install protective railings or stairs, leading to what Zarcadoolas describes as a “terrific fall” resulting in serious bodily injuries.
