A couple in Pinellas County, Florida, is embroiled in a legal battle over what they claim is a botched roofing job that left their home unattractive and damaged. Lee and Debra Shettle filed a complaint on March 14, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit against Arry’s Roofing Services, Inc. and Eagle Roofing Products Florida LLC. The lawsuit alleges multiple breaches of contract and warranty, as well as negligence by both companies.

The Shettles’ ordeal began when they contracted Arry’s Roofing Services on November 9, 2022, to replace the roof of their home using tiles manufactured by Eagle Roofing Products. According to the complaint, the tiles were defective from the start; they faded rapidly and exhibited excessive efflorescence. Furthermore, Arry’s allegedly installed these tiles improperly, failing to prepare and finish the mortar correctly during installation. This poor workmanship reportedly led to additional property damage, including harm to stucco finishes and fascia on the Shettles’ home.

Lee and Debra Shettle assert that all conditions precedent to filing this lawsuit have been satisfied or waived. They are seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for various costs incurred due to this debacle. These include expenses related to removing and replacing the roof entirely, repairing stucco and fascia damage, and conducting investigative analyses on the defective tiles. In addition to these compensatory damages, they are also asking for attorneys’ fees as stipulated in their contract with Arry’s Roofing Services.
