Gov. Ron DeSantis made two circuit judge appointments February 10.

Jack Schlechter of Niceville to serve as judge on the First Judicial Circuit Court

Schlechter has served as a county court judge for Okaloosa County since 2022. Previously, he was an attorney at AnchorsGordon, P.A. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his juris doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. Schlechter fills the judicial vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Gary Bergosh.
