State Courts Administrator Eric Maclure: ‘There were 2.8 million county court filings, 790,000 circuit court cases, felonies and civil, and 17,800 DCA filings, and then about 1,800 Supreme Court filings’

Providing enough interpreters, court reporters, and other “due process resources” to keep cases moving efficiently remains one of the Florida court system’s biggest challenges, State Courts Administrator Eric Maclure told a House panel January 15.

Delivering a general overview to the House Justice Budget Subcommittee, Maclure reminded lawmakers that the court system is not a state agency and lacks an agency’s traditional management structure.
