Amazon Delivery Driver Alleges Negligence Against Dog Owners After Vicious Attack
Tyrese Demezier, an Amazon delivery driver, has filed a lawsuit following a traumatic dog attack while on duty. The complaint was lodged in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on December 30, 2024. The defendants named in the case are Jose M. Delgado and Sarah A. France Lemaire.
According to the court documents, Demezier alleges that on July 9, 2023, he was bitten by a Mastiff dog named Lulu while delivering a package at the defendants’ property located at 13027 54th Street N in West Palm Beach. The plaintiff asserts that both Delgado and Lemaire owned and controlled the dog at the time of the incident. The lawsuit claims that there were no warning signs displayed on the property to alert visitors about a potentially dangerous dog, which is required under Florida’s Dog Bite Statute § 767.04.
Demezier recounts that upon arriving at the defendants’ residence to deliver a package, he was suddenly confronted by Lulu who began growling and barking aggressively. In fear for his safety, Demezier attempted to flee but was chased down and bitten on his right arm by the unleashed dog. This incident led to severe injuries requiring immediate medical attention.
