Plaintiff alleges negligence against convenience store chain after slip-and-fall injury
Ethan Saez-Moreno has filed a lawsuit against a major convenience store chain, alleging negligence that led to severe injuries. The complaint was filed on December 16, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, naming Amer Group Corporation, doing business as 7-11, as the defendant.
According to the complaint, Ethan Saez-Moreno was visiting a 7-11 store located at 16000 S. Military Trail in Delray Beach on February 29, 2024. During his visit as a business invitee, he slipped and fell due to liquid on the floor. Saez-Moreno claims that this incident resulted from negligence on the part of 7-11 and its employees. The lawsuit accuses the corporation of failing to maintain a safe environment for its customers by allowing hazardous conditions such as liquid spills to persist without proper warning or cleanup measures.
The plaintiff outlines several ways in which he believes 7-11 breached its duty of care. These include failing to keep the premises’ floor safe by allowing liquid spills to create slipping hazards and not providing adequate warnings about these dangers. Furthermore, Saez-Moreno asserts that there was a lack of timely inspections and necessary safety precautions like wet floor signs or barricades to alert customers about potential risks. He also alleges that employees might have contributed to the hazard by leaving floors wet after cleaning.
