A Florida man has taken legal action against a well-known pharmacy chain, alleging negligence that led to personal injury. Jonathan Rivera filed a complaint on December 12, 2024, in the Circuit Court for Pinellas County, Florida, accusing CVS Pharmacy, Inc. of creating hazardous conditions at one of its retail locations.

The lawsuit stems from an incident on March 18, 2023, when Rivera visited the CVS store located at 3765 Ulmerton Road in Clearwater, Florida. According to the complaint, Rivera was a business invitee intending to purchase items when he tripped over an electrical cord left on the floor. This fall resulted in significant bodily injuries. Rivera claims that CVS Pharmacy failed in its duty to maintain a safe environment for customers by allowing such dangerous conditions to exist and not providing adequate warnings about potential hazards.

Rivera’s complaint outlines several ways in which CVS allegedly breached its duty of care. The plaintiff asserts that the company neglected to keep the store’s floors safe and did not adequately warn customers about hidden dangers like the electrical cord. Furthermore, it is alleged that CVS failed to inspect the premises properly and did not take reasonable steps to ensure customer safety throughout the store’s aisles.
