Florida Resident Alleges Negligence Against Urgent Care Center After Injury
A Florida resident has filed a lawsuit against a medical center, alleging negligence after a medical table collapsed, causing him injuries. The complaint was filed by Stydmon Scott in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on November 22, 2024, against MD Now Medical Centers, Inc., doing business as MD Now Urgent Care Centers.
According to the lawsuit, Stydmon Scott was a patient at MD Now Urgent Care Centers on November 4, 2023. During his visit, while lying on a medical table owned and maintained by the defendant, the table unexpectedly collapsed. This incident resulted in Scott suffering various injuries. The plaintiff asserts that he acted reasonably and prudently during his time at the facility and blames the collapse on negligence by the defendant’s staff.
The complaint details multiple allegations of negligence against MD Now Medical Centers. It claims that the company failed to maintain its premises safely and did not properly inspect or repair potentially hazardous conditions such as the faulty medical table. Specifically, it accuses them of failing to warn about or fix dangerous conditions they knew or should have known about. The filing states: “Negligently permitting a dangerous and/or hazardous condition to exist on the premises where DEFENDANT knew or should have known that injury was likely to occur.”
