A Florida woman has filed a lawsuit against a local property owner, alleging negligence after a slip-and-fall incident in a high-traffic parking lot. Vinnette Albino lodged the complaint on October 7, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, targeting Sandalfoot Plaza Holdings, LLC as the defendant.

The case revolves around an incident that occurred on June 23, 2023, when Albino visited the premises of Sandalfoot Plaza located at 23133 Sandalfoot Plaza Dr., Boca Raton, Florida. According to the complaint, Albino was lawfully present as a business invitee when she slipped and fell on a slippery parking space divider line. The plaintiff claims that this area was inadequately marked and not maintained with anti-skid paint despite being a known high-traffic zone due to its proximity to a car wash facility.

Albino’s legal representation argues that Sandalfoot Plaza Holdings had several duties it failed to uphold. These included maintaining safe premises, correcting any dangerous conditions they knew or should have known about through reasonable care, using appropriate parking space line paint for existing conditions, and complying with ADA regulations along with fire code laws. Furthermore, the plaintiff accuses the defendant of failing to warn her and other invitees about potential hazards that were within their knowledge but not obvious to visitors.
