A harrowing incident at a popular entertainment venue has led to a lawsuit, highlighting the potential dangers of electrical negligence. John Fariello filed a complaint on September 30, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against Harbourside Place LLC and Allied Management Associates, LLC. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants’ failure to maintain safe conditions at an amphitheater fountain resulted in severe injuries and emotional distress for Fariello.

The complaint details a series of events on October 22, 2023, when Fariello was visiting Harbourside Place in Jupiter, Florida. According to the filing, children playing near an interactive fountain received electrical shocks due to unsafe conditions allegedly created by the defendants. One child collapsed into electrified water, prompting an adult to attempt a rescue but was electrocuted himself. Fariello intervened to help and sustained electrical shocks that caused physical injuries and psychological trauma.

Fariello’s legal team argues that Harbourside Place LLC and Allied Management Associates failed in their duty to ensure the safety of their premises. The lawsuit accuses them of negligence for not installing necessary safety features like Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI) and for making unauthorized modifications to the fountain’s electrical system without permits. The complaint highlights that these actions deviated from approved design plans and violated local building codes.
