Anthony Brown’s lawsuit against a major furniture retailer has taken a dramatic turn, with allegations of a defective product causing significant harm. The complaint was filed by Anthony Brown in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on October 3, 2024, targeting El Dorado Furniture Corporation as the defendant.

The case revolves around an incident that occurred on October 17, 2023, when a glass-top dining table purchased from El Dorado Furniture allegedly exploded without warning. According to the complaint, Anthony Brown had bought the table on September 13, 2022. He claims that the explosion happened without any misuse or improper handling on his part or by his family. The plaintiff asserts that this unexpected and violent event resulted in bodily injuries, pain and suffering, medical expenses both past and future, and even loss of hearing due to the glass explosion.

Brown accuses El Dorado Furniture Corporation of being strictly liable for the accident due to what he believes is a defect in manufacturing and distribution. “The explosion occurred as a result of defect manufacture,” states the complaint, emphasizing that as distributors of the faulty product, El Dorado bears responsibility for the damages incurred. This legal action seeks compensation exceeding $100,000 for damages exclusive of interest and costs.
