A New York resident has filed a lawsuit against a Florida hotel, alleging negligence that led to significant injuries. Ann Nuzzo filed the complaint in the Circuit Court for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, on July 11, 2024, targeting Edge Hotel as the defendant.

According to the complaint, Nuzzo was a business invitee at Edge Hotel located at 505 S Gulfview Blvd Ground Floor, Clearwater, FL 33767, on November 11, 2023. She claims that the hotel negligently maintained its property by allowing unsafe tiles to remain on the premises. The defective and dangerous condition of these tiles was unknown to Nuzzo at the time of her visit. The lawsuit states that Edge Hotel had a duty to maintain its property in a reasonably safe condition but failed to do so or warn Nuzzo about the hazardous tiles.

Nuzzo’s legal team argues that this negligence resulted in severe consequences for her. She suffered bodily injury and experienced pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for enjoyment of life, inconvenience, hospitalization expenses, medical and nursing care costs, loss of earnings and earning capacity, and aggravation of a pre-existing condition. “Defendant’s failure to address or warn about the unsafe tile created a dangerous environment,” reads one part of the complaint.
