Man Sues Three Companies Over Severe Injuries Sustained at Event
A man has filed a lawsuit against three companies after suffering severe injuries at an event. Howard Dean Dratt filed the complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on August 22, 2024, naming RSBC Real Estate Company, LLLP, M/Y Cafe, LLC, and Palm Beach Car Club, LLC as defendants.
The incident occurred on March 18, 2022, when Dratt attended an event at the premises located at 4200 N Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach. The event was organized to showcase motorsports, food, fashion, and lifestyle. According to the complaint, Dratt was walking past a car that had been placed near the edge of the premises when he fell several feet onto a dock below. The fall resulted in serious injuries including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for enjoyment of life, medical expenses, and loss of earning capacity.
Dratt alleges that RSBC Real Estate Company owned and controlled the premises where the event took place. He claims that RSBC allowed a car to be placed in an unreasonably dark area adjacent to a vertical drop-off that was not readily apparent. This placement created a dangerous falling hazard which RSBC failed to address or warn about. The complaint states that RSBC had actual or constructive notice of this dangerous condition but neglected its duty to maintain a safe environment for guests.
