A local woman is seeking justice after a trip to a popular restaurant ended in serious injury. Mary Makres filed a complaint against Redington Beach Restaurant Group, LLC, doing business as Seabreeze Island Grill, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida on July 23, 2024.

According to the complaint, Makres alleges that on February 24, 2023, she was visiting Seabreeze Island Grill located at 17855 Gulf Blvd., Redington Shores when she tripped and fell due to an unmarked pothole in the restaurant’s parking lot. The plaintiff claims that this incident resulted in severe personal injuries. Makres asserts that the restaurant had a duty to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition and to warn patrons of any dangerous conditions. She argues that the defendant breached this duty by failing to properly maintain and inspect the parking lot for hazards such as potholes.

The lawsuit details several allegations of negligence against Seabreeze Island Grill. These include failing to maintain or adequately maintain the premises, failing to inspect or adequately inspect the premises for hazards, failing to warn patrons of dangerous conditions, and failing to correct or repair hazardous conditions. Additionally, Makres accuses the restaurant of not having adequate staff assigned to inspect and maintain the premises and inadequately training its employees regarding safety inspections.
