A guest at a popular Florida restaurant is suing the establishment for negligence after suffering a significant injury. Lauren Begelman filed a complaint against Clique 307 LLC, doing business as Lionfish Modern Coastal Cuisine, in the Circuit Court of Palm Beach County, Florida, on July 19, 2024.

The lawsuit centers around an incident that occurred on July 31, 2022. On that day, Begelman visited Lionfish Modern Coastal Cuisine located at 307 E. Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach. According to the complaint, while using the women’s restroom at the restaurant, a tile broke off the wall and caused severe injury to her arm. The plaintiff asserts that she was lawfully on the premises as a business visitor and that the defendant had a duty to ensure her safety.

Begelman’s legal team argues that Clique 307 LLC failed in its responsibility to maintain safe conditions within its property. The complaint states: “Defendant had a non-delegable duty to use reasonable care in the inspection, repair and/or maintenance of the subject premises under their ownership.” The lawsuit lists several specific allegations of negligence against the defendant including failing to adequately maintain or inspect the bathroom tiles and not warning patrons about potential hazards.
