Court rules St. Johns County judge’s ‘Conservative’ voicemail did not breach ethics rules
The Florida Supreme Court has determined that a St. Johns County judge who identified herself as “conservative” in a campaign voicemail did not violate ethics rules that prohibit “inappropriate political activity.”
The June 20 ruling stems from a Judicial Qualifications Commission disciplinary case regarding St. Johns County Judge Casey Woolsey’s 2022 election campaign.
Justices were asked to weigh a stipulation in which Casey admitted that a social media post she approved misled voters by failing to indicate that $50,000 she loaned her campaign made up half of her $100,000 in total contributions.
