Pinellas Resident Sues Property Management Company Over Negligence Leading to Severe Injuries
A resident of Pinellas County has filed a lawsuit against a local property management company, alleging negligence that led to significant injuries. Katrina Harrison lodged the complaint in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in and for Pinellas County, Florida, on June 11, 2024, targeting Time Square Properties, Inc.
According to the court documents, Harrison claims that on July 1, 2020, she was descending a stairwell at The Times Square Properties Apartments located at 536 17th Avenue South in St. Petersburg when she slipped and fell due to water accumulation caused by an open or broken stairwell window. The plaintiff asserts that this incident resulted in severe bodily harm and other substantial losses.
The complaint details that Time Square Properties, Inc., which owns and maintains the apartment complex, had a duty to ensure safe conditions for its tenants and invitees. However, Harrison alleges that the company failed in this duty by not having slip-resistant tread surfaces in their stairwells and neglecting to maintain or repair the stairwell windows to prevent water from accumulating inside. Furthermore, it is claimed that the defendant did not properly maintain the stairwell tread surfaces to avoid such hazardous conditions.
