Woman sues Chick-Fil-A for negligence after tripping on handicap ramp
Beatriz Romero has filed a lawsuit against Bill Fink, doing business as Chick-Fil-A, Inc., and Jane Doe in the Circuit Court of the 6th Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The case number is 24-002087-CI, and it was e-filed on May 13, 2024. The lawsuit concerns premises liability and negligence following an incident where Romero sustained injuries at a Chick-Fil-A location.
According to the complaint, Romero visited the Chick-Fil-A at 3740 Tampa Road, Oldsmar, Florida on November 27, 2023. While exiting the restaurant with her food and special needs child, she tripped over an uneven section of a handicap ramp near the drive-through lane. As a result of this fall, Romero suffered significant personal injuries including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, and medical expenses.
Romero’s attorney Blake R. Carl from Morgan & Morgan P.A., alleges that both defendants had either actual or constructive knowledge of the hazardous condition but failed to take appropriate actions to rectify it. The lawsuit claims damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs and interest. The plaintiff seeks judgment for these damages plus interest and costs while demanding a jury trial.
