MIAMI – A Miami woman has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, claiming that she was terminated from her position because of her age and her need for future medical leave.

Cheryl Berg filed a lawsuit in federal court against EMED LLC, citing violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Florida Civil Rights Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act.

According to court documents, Berg, who was 58, was hired to work as EMED’s Director of Strategic Account Management at the defendant’s corporate office in Miami. She claims that during her employment she faced disability/handicap discrimination, age discrimination, and retaliation until her wrongful termination on December 27, 2022.
