Judge C. Roger Vinson

The Escambia and Santa Rosa legal community presented “The Profession and the Professional — the study of Judge Roger Vinson” December 1.

The presentation featured the professional life of U.S. Northern District Judge C. Roger Vinson, who passed away in April. Through the lens of friends, a law partner, a law clerk, and a fellow jurist, the panel discussed Judge Vinson’s life as “the embodiment of the Code of Conduct for United States Judges and Florida Bar Rules of Professional Conduct.” Whether it was his decisions regarding the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act and others that ultimately traveled to the United States Supreme Court or his time in mentoring and public outreach, the audience was furnished a revelation of what it means “to elevate the profession and others by a consummate professional.”
