Tallahassee has the second-highest demand for attorneys in the country, outranked by only the Washington, D.C., area, according to the latest annual American Bar Association profile of the profession.

The Miami area ranks third; the New York City area ranks fourth; and, Santa Fe, New Mexico ranks fifth.

The rankings, which come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, are based on comparisons between the percentage of workers in a metropolitan area who are lawyers versus the percentage nationwide.
