Hurricane Ian affecting Florida courts
Some Florida appellate and circuit courts were closing Tuesday in anticipation of Hurricane Ian as the massive storm threatened Florida’s Gulf Coast and forced major evacuations in the Tampa Bay region.
The 13th Judicial Circuit announced that it would be closed Tuesday through Thursday.
“Preliminary Presentations (PP Court), Juvenile Detentions and Shelter Hearings will follow the weekend schedule during this time,” read a statement on the 13th Circuit website. “Shelters & detentions will be at 10 a.m. & PP Court will be at 11 a.m. Jurors should not report for duty.”
