Gov. Ron DeSantis requested that on or before Friday, October 21, 2022, the Sixth District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission provide him with names of highly qualified nominees for the three District Court vacancies created by the establishment of the Sixth District Court of Appeal, which is effective January 1, 2023.
The Commission requires interested candidates to submit a completed application for consideration to the Chair, Jeff Aaron at jeff.aaron@gray-robinson.com on or before September 19, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. Incomplete applications, obsolete forms of application, and applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Applicants in need of guidance should direct inquires to the Chair. Applicants must qualify to hold office for District Court under Article V, Section 8 of the Florida Constitution. Those qualifications include having been a member of The Florida Bar for the preceding ten years, being a registered voter in the State of Florida, and residing in Orange, Osceola, Hardee, Highlands, Polk, Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry or Lee County at the time of appointment. After the application deadline, the Commission will issue a separate press release regarding the dates and times for interviews.

Applicants must also include current contact information, including email addresses and direct phone numbers, for themselves, as well as for all co-counsel, opposing counsel, and references to facilitate the requisite background investigation.
