A nearly 800-year-old tradition will be observed on October 18 when the St. Thomas More Society of South Florida gathers for the 31st Annual Red Mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church at 901 NE 2nd St., in Ft. Lauderdale.

The mass will be followed by a reception and dinner at the Marriott Resort Ft. Lauderdale Harbor Beach where Senior U.S. Judge Patricia Seitz, a former president of The Florida Bar, will receive the 2022 Archbishop Edward McCarthy Award and David Armstrong, president of St. Thomas University, will be the dinner speaker. The mass gets underway at 5:30 with the reception beginning at 6:30 and dinner at 8 p.m.
