Senate moves property insurance legislation
Sen. Jim Boyd
Back in the Capitol for a special session, lawmakers are beginning to debate property insurance reforms that target litigation costs — measures that sponsors say are needed to counter skyrocketing premiums, lack of availability, and insurance company insolvencies.
The Senate voted 30-9 on May 24 to approve SB 2D by Sen. Jim Boyd, R-Bradenton. The Senate also approved a related Boyd measure, SB D4.
