House and Senate get to work reconciling competing court budget plans
The House and Senate begin negotiating competing budget proposals this week, after already agreeing on some big-ticket court spending and policy priorities.
The House approved a $105.3 billion proposal that is only somewhat less ambitious than the $108.6 billion Senate plan.
At the same time, the House and Senate approved substantive legislation — HB 2027 and SB 2522 respectively — that would implement a Supreme Court recommendation to create a Sixth District Court of Appeal and seven new district court judgeships.
