Senate panel moves resolution to limit citizen initiatives
A measure that would limit citizen initiatives to “procedural subjects” or “the structure of government or the Constitution” is beginning to move in the Florida Senate.
The Senate Ethics and Elections Committee voted 5-4 on February 8 to approve SJR 1412, a proposed constitutional amendment by Sen. Jason Brodeur, R-Lake Mary.
Brodeur said the measure would prevent special interests from putting the Florida Constitution “up for auction.”
