A bill to clarify that the Kearney decision should not have Floridians inadvertently pledging protected assets like IRAs and retirement benefits as collateral has cleared a Senate committee.

SB 406 is a priority of both the Business Law and the Real Property Probate and Trust Law sections. The measure cleared the Community Affairs Committee November 3.
