Sen. Gary Farmer

A South Florida lawmaker has filed a measure that would make “traumatic brain injury” a factor when determining a defendant’s competence to proceed.

Sen. Gary Farmer, Jr., D-Ft. Lauderdale, and an attorney, filed SB 218 September 14. The measure has been referred to the Judiciary, Criminal Justice and Appropriations committees. There is no companion.
