A controversial rule package that would have increased the use of electronic signatures and encouraged more use of electronic documents and e-service in court filings is being readdressed by the Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration Committee.
The committee at its June 11 meeting heard Chair Michael Korn report on how it will revisit a rules package sent back by the court in March.
The package was intended to modernize procedural rules to keep pace with a court system that is electronic instead of paper-based, including incorporating the Florida Courts E-Filing Authority, which manages the statewide online filing Portal, into the rules.
