A bill that clarifies online notary services include the virtual appearance of witnesses and cleans up some “glitches” in the online notary law has passed the Florida Legislature and been sent to the governor.

The House passed HB 483 on April 21 118-0 and the following day the Senate followed suit 40-0.

“This bill basically clarifies that online notarizations include the virtual appearance of witnesses and it has some cleanup language with regard to a glitch bill we passed last year,” said Sen. Bobby Powell, D-West Palm Beach, sponsor of the Senate bill.
