A Senate panel has approved a measure that seeks to standardize veterans treatment courts throughout the state, while also allowing judges more flexibility to serve as gatekeepers.

The Senate Appropriations Committee voted overwhelmingly April 19 to approve CS/CS SB 764 by Rep. Danny Burgess, R-Zephyrhills.
