COVID liability protection bill awaits governor’s signature

The House has approved a measure to protect businesses, hospitals, nursing homes and other providers from COVID-19 liability, marking the Legislature’s first response to a year-long pandemic that has killed some 32,000 Floridians.

The House voted 83-31on March 26 to approve SB 72 by Senate Judiciary Chair Jeff Brandes. The Senate approved the measure 24-12 on March 18.
