A bill to help Florida’s clerks of court address chronic fiscal problems has begun moving through the Florida Legislature.

SB 838, by Sen. Jim Boyd, R-Bradenton, passed the Senate Judiciary Committee 10-0 on March 9 and would give clerks more flexibility in handling their finances.
