The Civil Procedure Rules Committee is planning early next month to begin circulating a formal response to the Supreme Court’s recent changes to Florida’s summary judgment standard.

In a December 31 order, the court set a May 1 implementation date for amendments to Rule 1.510 on its own motion. The court invited the Civil Procedure Rules Committee, and the public, to submit comments.

At a January 14 meeting, committee Chair Ceci Berman set a February 11 deadline for circulating a draft response that the committee hopes will be ready for Board of Governors action in March.
