The St. Pete Courthouse opened a lactation room last year. The Pinellas County Chapter of the FAWL and the Clearwater Bar Association worked to provide a space to not only serve attorneys but also litigants, employees and visitors to the courthouse, providing greater access to the justice system for all breastfeeding mothers.

Florida courthouses — trial and appellate — would be required to set aside “lactation spaces” under a bill filed by a South Florida lawmaker.
