Judge Alicia Latimore, who serves in the Ninth Circuit Orange County Domestic Violence Division and presides over the circuit’s early childhood court, has been designated chair of Florida’s Dependency Court Improvement Panel.
This multidisciplinary statewide workgroup is charged with improving the handling of child abuse and neglect cases.
The Dependency Court Improvement Panel has played a role in advancing promising practices throughout the state on issues such as early childhood courts (ECC), evidence-based parenting, transition planning, co-parenting, visitation, placement stability, and child safety. The panel is federally mandated to guide dependency court improvement activities throughout the state.
