Defendants who represent themselves would be required to use a standby attorney to question vulnerable victims and witnesses, under a proposal by a Jacksonville lawmaker.
Republican Rep. Jessica Baker, an assistant state attorney in the Fourth Judicial Circuit, filed HB 507 on November 20.
