The George C. Young American Inns of Court continued its ongoing focus on artificial intelligence with a recent program titled, “The Use of AI to Craft Openings, Closings, and Directing Cross-Examination: Ethical Imperatives and Practical Realities.”
Led by Pupillage Team 2 and Judge Tom Young, the presentation examined how lawyers are beginning to incorporate platforms such as Claude AI and Microsoft 365 Copilot into trial practice. Speakers stressed that, despite the growing capability of these tools, lawyers retain non-delegable professional responsibilities, including protecting client confidentiality, ensuring the accuracy of legal work, and maintaining technological competence.
